Drywall installation is dusty work, but a little preparation goes a long way toward keeping your home clean and your project on schedule.
Start by clearing the rooms where work will happen. Move furniture to the center of the room or to another part of the house, and cover anything that stays with plastic drop cloths. Dust will travel, so seal off vents and doorways to other rooms.
Remove anything fragile from the walls — pictures, shelves, window treatments — and take down anything that protrudes into the room. Make sure the crew has a clear path from the entry door to the work area.
Plan for noise and some disruption for a few days. Hanging, taping, mudding, and sanding each take time, and the compound needs to dry between coats. We'll keep you updated on the schedule every step of the way.
